After So Much Neglect, The Fantastic Four Will Now Be Part Of The MCU + More!

After so many years have passed and after so many terrible films, the Fantastic Four will finally catch a break and head to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts will be directing the upcoming film.

And that’s not all: Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the following in a Marvel/Disney/Star Wars investor stream for the public:

  • A third Ant-Man film in the works called Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Peyton Reed to direct, with actress Kathryn Newton to play Cassie Lang and Jonathan Majors to play Kang the Conqueror.
  • Christian Bale will be playing Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder.
  • Marvel heroine America “Miss America” Chavez will appear in Doctor Strange 2, which will tie in with WandaVision and Spider-Man 3 (ie the one with Spider-Man actors Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield)
  • A Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special written and directed by James Gunn, scheduled for Christmas 2022 and shot alongside Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
  • Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be the movie to jumpstart MCU’s Phase Four.
  • On the Disney+ side, Feige announced three new Skrull-focused series: Secret Invasion (starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn), Ironheart featuring Dominique Thorne as main character Riri Williams (ie the new Iron Man), and Armor Wars starring Don Cheadle as War Machine. This will go alongside the Loki, Wandavision, and other Disney+ shows that were previously announced & in production.
