PS4 Owners Offered Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds (Update)

CD Projekt Red has announced that they will be fixing bugs and crashes on all versions of the game. The next patch will arrive in the next seven days, but the next major patches will arrive sometime in January and February 2021, respectively.

For those who want refunds, you can request for one via the PSN or Xbox. You can also contact the developer directly from now until 21 December 2020 by emailing them at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com.

Original story is as follows:

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 have been plagued with problems and issues since launch. Because of that, Sony is reportedly issuing refunds to certain PS4 fans in the U.S.

According to a Reddit thread, Sony is now apparently refunding the full cost of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 even for those who’ve played more than two hours. It’s rare for Sony to give refunds, except in the rarest cases.

The player stated on Reddit:

“I had to file a support claim online and sit on hold for over an hour to speak with someone, however, they were quick to issue the refund and then delete the game off my library.

Sony forces you to go through support chat first.

I never chatted with a live agent over chat, I used an automated thing and then they gave a number I could call.

The lady I spoke with also said that Sony is issuing a business complaint to CDPR about the issues, and I wasn’t the first one to call in today about refunds.”

However, it might be significantly more difficult to get a refund if you aren’t in the U.S. That’s because many regions don’t exactly have its own customer support hotline. Even if they do, they’re not exactly reliable.

Also, it’s not like every PS4 players who called received a refund. There are still many who reported that they have not, which means that refunds are still pretty much on a case-by-case basis.

If you’re not in the U.S., you probably shouldn’t expect to get a refund anytime soon. Case in point, it’s hard to even find a phone number to call on the official PlayStation Asia website.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia.
