KKP Best Of 2020: Game #25

#25. Coffee Talk (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch)

https://www.youtube.com/embed/WA1lEU_zTCw

Similar to VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, Coffee Talk is a talking simulator game where players can partake in brewing caffeinated drinks and listen to the problems of fantasy-inspired people. All made by Toge Productions, a team of Indonesian developers.

Sure, all you really do is listen to your patrons talk about their lives and serve them coffee but they cover mature and true-to-life subject matter that will resonate with many gamers. That’s not all, as the game is further bolstered by a great soundtrack that will help you chill as you listen to the stories of these NPCs.

Coffee Talk is a relaxing and calm game that’s perfect to play and chill with when you’re taking a break from all those open-world and action-heavy games popping left and right in 2020. Since it was developed by an Indonesian developer, the game features a lot of Southeast Asian influences and easter eggs, which makes it refreshing amongst all the other Japanese and western visual novels out there.
