First Studio Ghibli CGI Movie Trailer Shows Off New Style
By Alleef Ashaari|December 3, 2020|0 Comment
The first trailer for Studio Ghibli’s new CGI animated movie has arrived, and it looks different, to say the least.
Directed by Goro Miyazaki (the son of the legendary Hayao Miyazaki himself), Earwig And The Witch is based on a novel by Diana Wynne Jones and was first announced earlier this year.
It will be Studio Ghibli’s first-ever CGI movie, which is a departure from the fluid and detailed 2D animation that the company is usually known for.
Earwig And The Witch follows a 10-year-old girl growing up in England in the 1990s, unaware that she’s actually the daughter of a witch. When she’s adopted by a strange couple, she begins to discover her magical powers.
It is set to premiere in Japan on 30 December 2020.
Currently, Studio Ghibli is also working on another film, How Do You Live?, for which Hayao Miyzakai came out of retirement to direct it himself.
In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
