CD Projekt Red Faces Possible Fine By The Polish Government

Poland’s Office Of Competition And Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has opened an investigation into CD Projekt Red over the bad state of the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch (PS4 and Xbox One).

In a statement to Polish legal newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a UOKiK spokesperson announced that the Polish government agency will be monitoring the situation regarding CD Projekt Red and their continuing work on Cyberpunk 2077.

“We ask the entrepreneur to explain the problems with the game and the actions taken by him.

We will check how the manufacturer is working on introducing corrections or solving difficulties that prevent the game from playing on different consoles, but also how it intends to act in relation to people who have complained and are dissatisfied with the purchase due to the inability to play the game on their equipment despite the manufacturer’s previous assurances.”

UOKiK is just one of many problems plaguing CD Projekt Red, as various parties have also unleashed lawsuits against the Polish developer for misleading them on the game’s ‘broken’ state at launch for the console versions.

The Polish government agency has the power to slap a fine on CD Projekt Red worth up to a whopping 10 percent of their annual revenue. While that’s unlikely at this point (since it has never happened before despite being legally possible), it’s still another potential problem faced by CD Projekt Red.

You can check out a handy recap of all the problems plaguing Cyberpunk 2077 since launch by heading over here.
