Resident Evil Village Drops This May, PS5 Demo Available Today
By Alleef AshaariVerified|January 22, 2021|0 Comment
During the Resident Evil Showcase live stream, Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village is slated to launch for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC on 7 May 2021.
In Resident Evil Village, players once again assume the role of Ethan Winters but this time in search of his kidnapped daughter. The gameplay in this game will be in first-person like 2017’s Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, but the combat will introduce new elements like blocking/guarding and what looks like a sort of parrying against enemies.
Blocking/guarding in action.
You will also be dealing with a new antagonist: castle owner Lady Dimitrescu (via PlayStation Blog), the tall vampire lady that’s all the talk on the interwebs since she made her presence on a previous teaser. She is accompanied by her three daughters (one of them pictured above), whom who will probably fight in the course of the game.
Resident Evil 4 fans will also be happy to learn that the game’s iconic inventory system will make a triumphant return in Resident Evil Village, which is apt considering the similarities in setting and tone.
Players can also look forward to the return of Resident Evil 4‘s iconic Merchant person, albeit in a new form. In Resident Evil Village, it’s going to be a big guy simply named The Duke, and you’ll be buying your weapons from him.

In an expected move, a Resident Evil Village demo is already releasing today exclusively for PS5. However, it will be a unique experience, as players will assume the role of a character simply known as the Maiden, and it won’t feature any combat whatsoever. Your objective is apparently just to escape the castle.
Who is this Maiden? We’ll have to play the demo to find out. Another more extensive Resident Evil Village demo will launch sometime in spring 2021, presumably before the full release of the game on 7 May 2021.
They also revealed that it will come with a multiplayer element, just like 2020’s Resident Evil 3 did with Resident Evil Resistance. Free for owners of Resident Evil Village, it’s called Resident Evil Verse. Not much has been revealed, but let’s hope it’s a better experience than Resident Evil Resistance was.
You can already pre-order Resident Evil Village starting from today.
