Cyberpunk 2077 Had The Biggest Digital Launch Of All Time
By Alleef Ashaari|January 25, 2021|0 Comment
Cyberpunk 2077 reportedly had the biggest digital launch of all time based on digital revenue and digital units sold.
According to SuperData’s worldwide digital games market report for December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 sold over a whopping 10.2 million digital copies, with PC accounting for around 80 percent of those sales.
However, SuperData does mention that these numbers do include the digital copies that have been refunded, but Cyberpunk 2077 also helped digital game sales reach US$12 billion in December 2020, which is a 15 percent increase year-over-year with the highest monthly total revenue ever.
Last month, developer CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than a whopping 13 million units across all platforms as of 20 December 2020. What this means is that only a mere three million of those were physical. Digital is the future, and soon physical games will be a remnant of the past.
