Sony Announces Next-Gen PlayStation VR For PS5
By Alleef Ashaari|February 23, 2021|0 Comment
Sony has announced the next-gen PlayStation VR for the PS5 in a new PlayStation Blog post. The original PlayStation VR was originally launched back in 2016 for the PS4.
According to PlayStation Platform Planning & Management Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino, the next-generation VR system will be coming to PlayStation 5, enabling the ultimate entertainment experience with dramatic leaps in performance and interactivity. Players will feel an even greater sense of presence and become even more immersed in their game worlds once they put on the new headset.
The new PlayStation VR will connect to PS5 with a single cord to simplify setup and improve ease-of-use while enabling a high-fidelity visual experience. One of the innovations will be a new VR controller, which will incorporate some of the key features found in the DualSense wireless controller, along with a focus on great ergonomics.
However, Sony confirmed that the new PlayStation VR for PS5 won’t be launching in 2021, so we’ll have to wait a while longer yet for the future of virtual reality to arrive.
