Star Wars Republic Commando Drops On PS4 & Switch This April

Aspyr Media has announced that they will launch the classic FPS tactical shooter Star Wars Republic Commando for PS4, PS5 and the Nintendo Switch on 6 April 2021.

Star Wars Republic Commando originally launched for Xbox in February 2005 and PC in March 2005. The PC version is also now available via SteamGOG, and Origin.

Aspyr Media co-founder Ted Staloch said:

“Since its original launch in 2005, Republic Commando continues to be a fan-favorite Star Wars game.

We’re honored to be able work with Lucasfilm Games to bring back this beloved moment in franchise history.”

The game is 16 years old but remains a cult classic amongst Star Wars fans. It’s important to note that the upcoming revival by Aspyr Media is a single-player only experience with modernized controls, so there won’t be any multiplayer support.

You’ll play as Delta Squad leader RC-1138, AKA Delta Three-Eight, AKA “Boss,” but no clone is alone. The squad is your weapon, especially when you call the shots with manoeuvres and tactical commands.

Delta Squad comes from Star Wars The Clone Wars in the episode “Witches From The Mist”, and Delta Squad leader Delta Three-Eight is voiced by Temuera Morrison, who recently reprised the role of Boba Fett in The Mandalorian Season 2.
