M. Night Shyamalan’s Old Movie Gets First Creepy Trailer
By Alleef Ashaari|February 8, 2021|0 Comment
Besides The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Super Bowl 2021 also debuted the first teaser trailer for The Sixth Sense and Glass director M. Night Shyamalan‘s upcoming new movie; Old.
Starring Gael GarcÃa Beral (Mozart in the Jungle) and Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), Old is reportedly based on Sandcastle, a graphic novel by Pierre Oscar Levy. In the graphic novel, a seemingly idyllic island paradise contains true horrors, as a dead body is discovered and children begin ageing rapidly.
For instance, the teaser trailer features a six-year-old boy ageing into an adult Alex Wolff (Hereditary) in mere hours.
The film stars an impressive international cast including Rufus Sewell (Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle), Ken Leung (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Jupiter Ascending), Abbey Lee (HBO’s Lovecraft Country), Aaron Pierre (Syfy’s Krypton), Embeth Davidtz (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Eliza Scanlen (Little Women), Emun Elliott (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Kathleen Chalfant (Showtime’s The Affair) and Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit).
Shyamalan and his cast, and his crew began production in the Dominican Republic in October 2020. What’s interesting is that Shyamalan’s 21-year-old daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan also served as the second-unit director on Old (and later on acted as director for the second season of M. Night Shyamalan’s Apple TV Plus horror series Servant).
Old premieres on 23 July 2021. In the meantime, check out the teaser trailer below:
