Sony Is Getting Sued Over Alleged PS5 DualSense Controller Drift Issue
For every few steps forward Sony takes with its PlayStation brand, it does take a couple more back.
Sony is being given a class action lawsuit by Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP for an alleged PS5 DualSense controller drifting problem (via IGN). See, there has been online forum reports about the DualSense controller’s analog stick mysteriously causing your controlled character to drift aimlessly off-course even when the controller is left idle.
Heck, even Sony’s own pre-release testers have stated this, and it was apparently given the green light by the company despite that red flag. The lawsuit’s case documentation notes “significantly interferes with gameplay and thus compromises the DualSense controller’s core functionality”, as well as claiming Sony’s actions to be “fraudulent, deceptive, unlawful, and unfair” when also considering the limited repair options available for the issue.
I have a brand new PS5 controller that hasn’t been played with much, but I’m still getting the joystick drift. Smh ?????

I have issues with my Joy Cons, both sets, and same drift even with the Pro Controller. Within 1 month with my PS5 and Dualsense, I had drift and replaced it. Smh.

Since this is a class-action lawsuit, any US citizen who also has PS5 DualSense drifting problems can add their own evidence to the claim. If Sony is found to be at fault, the case and payout will go to the prosecution and the citizens involved. Let’s hope the matter gets resolved; this may not be a good look for Sony and the PlayStation brand worldwide.
