New Asterix & Obelix Beat-Em-Up Will Let You Slap Romans In Style

Publisher Microids and developer Mr. Nutz Studio have announced a new beat ’em up game Asterix & Obelix Slap Them All! for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).

It is slated to launch sometime in fall 2021 with English, French, and German audio support, and English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish text support.

According to the press release, Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! is set in 50 B.C. when Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans and only one small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders. Players can play as Asterix and Obelix and set sail to the most iconic places in the comic book series while battling Roman legionaries, pirates, brigands and even the dreaded Normans.

Developer Mr. Nutz Studio chose to go with an artistic direction very close to the comic book where the characters, the scenery, and animations are hand-drawn. Players will also be happy to learn that there will be local co-op support.

Asterix & Obelix creator Albert Uderzo passed away in early 2020, and there was another new Asterix and Obelix game in late 2019 from the same publisher, Microids.

In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
