Garena has announced that it will host the Garena World 2021 on 3 April and 4 April 2021 in Thailand. This year, Southeast Asia’s biggest gaming and esports event will take on a fully-digital format that will look to offer fans an immersive online experience. Using a combination of cutting-edge technologies and fan engagement features, Garena will invite fans to step into an “Interactive Virtual World†that will offer them the best of both online and offline formats.
Garena World 2021 will deploy a suite of advanced technologies to delight the senses and deepen audience immersion. This will come in the use of virtual production technologies, as well as augmented reality (AR), visual effects (VFX), and full animation.
Garena Thailand Head and Senior Director Krit Pattanateacha said:
“These technologies are used in many large-scale films to deliver high-quality production value.
Our fans have been waiting for this event since our last edition in 2019, so we wanted to go all out to make sure they enjoy Garena World 2021 – even as they remain safe in their own homes.â€
The Garena World 2021 official website has been expanded to include a host of social interaction and community engagement features in order to replicate the on-site buzz of offline events. The platform will include a dedicated live streaming platform that will enable viewers to express themselves through public and private chat functions and customisable avatars.
Viewers in Thailand will also be able to complete mini-games to win tokens that can be exchanged for exciting in-game and physical rewards from Arena Of Valor, Free Fire, FIFA Online 4, Call of Duty Mobile, and Fairy Tail Forces Unite. They will get the physical items delivered directly to their homes completely free of charge.
As is traditional, Garena World 2021 will bring together the region’s best and brightest esports talent. This year, they will compete in tournaments spanning four of Garena’s hit titles – Arena Of Valor, Free Fire, FIFA Online 4, and Call of Duty Mobile.
39 teams from across nine regions will assemble as they compete for a slice of the US$660,000 (19 million baht) prize pool.
RoV Pro League 2021 Summer: Thailand’s best AOV teams will battle in the grand finals for a portion of the US$300,000 (10,000,000 baht) prize pool and a ticket to the Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) 2021.
Free Fire Pro League Season 4 Presented by DTAC: Thailand’s top Free Fire teams will compete for the lion’s share of the US$160,000 (5,000,000 baht) prize pool and a chance to book a place in the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore.
FIFAe Champions Cup Spring 2021: The top teams from China, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, will compete for a prize pool of around US$100,000 (3,000,000 baht).

In addition, Garena World 2021 will also host a series of knowledge-sharing sessions called “Garena Get & Give†to educate young people on career opportunities within the industry and in the wider digital economy.
