Star Trek Picard Season 2 Is Coming In 2022

During a special live stream celebrating Star Trek’s First Contact Day hosted by Wil Wheaton and Mica Burton, Sir Patrick Stewart and John de Lancie popped up to announce that Star Trek Picard Season 2 will premiere in 2022. They also confirmed that it recently began production.

However, the biggest news of all is that John de Lancie will reprise the fan-favourite role of Q. In the Star Trek franchise, Q is part of the Q Continuum and is a powerful extra-dimensional being who can manipulate space, time and reality. He was first introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation but also later reprised the role in Star Trek: Voyager and most recently in the animated series Star Trek Lower Decks.

Along with the return of Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, confirmed returning cast members include Alison Pill, Isa Briones, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Jeri Ryan, Orla Brady and Brent Spiner.

For more of what I think about the current direction of the Star Trek franchise, you can head on over here. In the meantime, check out the Star Trek Picard teaser trailer below:
