Batman The Long Halloween Part One Trailer Teases The Holiday Killer
By Alleef Ashaari|April 7, 2021|0 Comment
Originally announced in 2020, Batman The Long Halloween Part One has finally received an official trailer. Part One is slated to premiere in summer 2021, while Part Two will premiere in fall 2021. What’s interesting is that Part One is rated PG-13 while Part Two is rated R for some reason.
For those unfamiliar with the source material, Batman The Long Halloween is a 13-issue comics story arc from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale that was first published in 1996, which chronicles an early period in Batman’s crime-fighting career that sees him on the trail of the Holiday Killer, a serial murderer who claims a new victim on each major holiday.
It was iconic for having Batman, James Gordon and Harvey Dent (before he became Two-Face) going up against some of the Dark Knight’s best villains, including the Joker, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, and more.
The synopsis for Batman The Long Halloween Part One reads:
Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham’s young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city’s only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordan and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious and powerful Falcone Crime Family.
But when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that, instead of ordinary gang violence, they’re also dealing with a serial killer – the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern.
Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World’s Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer.
Here’s the full voice cast for Batman The Long Halloween Part One:
It’s a pretty star-studded cast, with Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as Batman and the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman, not to mention Troy Baker reprising his role as the Joker.
The animated movie is directed by Chris Palmer, who also directed 2020’s Superman Man Of Tomorrow animated movie. It begs the question; are they both in the same universe? We’ll find out later this year.
