Borderlands 3 Revenge Of The Cartels Returns This June

Borderlands 3 is bringing back the fan-favourite limited event Revenge of the Cartels this 24th June. The 2021 version will be dubbed The Revengeance of Revenge of the Cartel, where you head to a special location to take down cartel boss Joey Ultraviolet and his 80s-inspired goons.

Why is this event a fan-favourite? Because it features a number of really great Legendary weapons like the OPQ Assault Rifle, the Fish Slap grenade, and the COV Yellowcake Rocket Launcher that was nerfed a couple of times because it was too good. These guns were at level 57 when they debuted; it’ll be great to farm the level 65 versions.

To keep you entertained before that date in June hits, the game will host a six-week series called the Guardians’ True Trials. Here, each of the Proving Ground Trials final boss encounters will receive massive buffs to their damage and health similar to Hemovorous the Invincible. And you know how long it took a lot of folks to kill THAT Raid Boss, right? One Proving Ground Trials boss will be selected to get the buff per week. Your reward from these bosses are “two Legendary items handpicked by the Borderlands 3 development team”.

Here’s the first week’s True Trial of Survival location & launch time.

Dates: 9:00 AM PT May 13 to 8:59 AM PT May 20
Location: Devil’s Razor (Pandora)
Base game Legendary: The Lob
Add-on Legendary: Lucky 7 (Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot)

The rest of the True Trials will happen on the weeks of 27 May, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June, and 24 June. We’ll be updating you with the locations and details as the weeks go by.
