Check Out The Incredibly Ballin’ Neo The World Ends With You Opening

It’s clear as day that Square Enix really loved the 2D-slash-3D hybrid style it has with its The World Ends With You anime adaptation, opening and all. Why? Because they’re using the same graphics tech for the game’s sequel.

At least for the opening movie: Square Enix just published the opening and two Japanese commercials for NEO: The World Ends With You. It’s as flashy and stylish as you would expect from a game featuring a Tokyo setting, Tetsuya Nomura characters, and a ton of graffiti and Japan street/fashion culture. Also, dig the slight BGM transition to the TWEWY classic “Twister” at the 1:02 mark.

To recap, NEO: The World Ends With You stars Rindo, the leader of the Wicked Twisters, whose aim is to survive and win the Reaper’s Game. NEO: The World Ends With You will be out for PS4 and Nintendo Switch this 27th July.
