Mass Effect Legendary Edition Might Get Multiplayer, Says Director

Mass Effect 3‘s multiplayer mode was controversial for its forced integration with the game’s single-player mode, but some players do have fond memories of spending their time there. It’s good news, then, that the recently-released Mass Effect Legendary Edition might receive a multiplayer mode in the future.

According to Mass Effect Legendary Edition director Mac Walters in an interview with CNET, there’s a possibility that multiplayer might return in the game.

He said:

“I would never say no to that — we want to see what kind of reception the Legendary Edition gets and what the demand for the multiplayer is.

And then we’ll ask ourselves if we have the resources and time to bring it up to the quality level we and fans want.”

While that’s not exactly a definite yes, at least players can be happy knowing that the developers are at least weighing their options and considering it. It’s all up to reception and demand at the end of the day, though.

Mass Effect Legendary EditionĀ is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. For more details on the list of improvements, head on over here.
