3Particle Solution Sdn Bhd has announced the very first xR Virtual Production in Malaysia using Extended Reality (xR) Technology with Unreal Engine, which is a joint venture with educational partner Giochi Academy (managed by Giochi Technologies Sdn Bhd).

This joint collaboration is to offer a higher standard in virtual production to the Malaysian market and to both attract and cultivate more students to the event/film/broadcast industries. With a team of collaboration partners including professional sound & light, video & LED solution, Cine/Broadcast specialist and an in-house cinematography studio, they will be providing a complete solution of xR Virtual Production to all businesses and event or creative agencies as well as broadcast or film production in Malaysia and abroad.

With the support from Unreal Engine, disguise and Mo-Sys, they aim to continue to develop towards a more structured and professional company in the industry with the highest standards in the coming years.

What is xR?

Extended reality (xR) is a technology that allows you to blend virtual and physical worlds together using Augmented reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) in live production environments to create fully immersive experiences.  

It’s a next-generation process for the film, broadcast, and live event productions. xR combines camera tracking and real-time rendering to create an immersive virtual environment, visible live on set and shot directly in-camera.

xR Stage | Malaysia

At the same time, 3Particle Solution Sdn Bhd is also introducing the very first owned xR Stage in Malaysia, a virtual production studio made for xR, located at Sunway Subang Business Park near Sultan  Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. The xR Stage is recognised as the first in the Malaysian market. There are a total of 65 xR stages in the APAC region out of a total of 282 worldwide.

The Malaysia-based xR stage studio facilities had been injected with an investment of several million RM in both resources and talented personnel to kick start, research, develop and build a talent pool. It’s ready for virtual production on any scale from live broadcast/event up to commercial/feature film. 

The xR Stage | MY is laid out as follows:

• Level G – xR Virtual Production zone.
• Level 1 – Client lounge area with a make-up zone.
• Level 2 – Equipped with space for green screen and white screen for both photography and videography, it is available for rent with or without our professional in-house production team. However, this section is still under renovation.

At the same time, these facilities will also serve as a training/practical centre for selected students at Giochi Academy.
