New Nintendo Switch OLED Model Will Be Out Before 2021 Ends

Nintendo’s worst-kept secret may be out in a few months time, according to sources close to Bloomberg.

The heavily-rumoured new version of the Nintendo Switch will be out either in September or October. Manufacturing of the new OLED-powered model will reportedly start as soon as July, with a major announcement happening before the week of E3, 12th of June.

The announcement will definitely have third-party companies showing off their games on the new hardware. This version of the Nintendo Switch will be more powerful, using new tech from Nvidia that works with DLSS technology and allowing 4K output to a TV. The 7-inch display will be made of OLED, straight out of Samsung.

Will COVID-19 hamper sales and manufacturing? Well, Nintendo suppliers have said that they are confident in fulfilling orders despite chip and component shortage.

“Production lines are better prepared for the potential component shake-up and the parts Nintendo is using are subject to less competition than those in its rivals’ more powerful consoles. [Having said that], the company’s ability to meet consumer demand won’t be guaranteed.”

Guess we’ll have to wait these next few weeks to see if the rumours are true.
