There are little to no details about Black Panther 2, besides the fact that director Ryan Coogler will return and that production will soon begin in July 2021. We initially reported that actor Tenoch Huerta will join the cast as a villain back in November 2020, but a new report from The Illuminerdi claims that he will be playing none other than Namor the Sub-Mariner.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Namor is one of the earliest Marvel characters ever created. Created by Bill Everett, the character debuted in 1939’s Marvel Comics #1, which was published by Timely Comics (which would later be renamed Marvel Comics). He’s basically Aquaman before DC Comics’ character even debuted. In the Marvel universe, Namor is the son of an Atlantean princess and sailor. He is also one of the first mutants and as the king of Atlantis, he often goes to war with Wakanda.
Tenoch Huerta is best known for portraying Rafael Caro Quintero in Netflix’s Narcos Mexico. He will also be starring in the upcoming The Forever Purge movie, which will release in July 2021.
