Guilty Gear Strive Peaks At 31,000 Players In A Few Days; Also Gets Day 1 Patch

The PC version of Guilty Gear Strive is looking pretty healthy.

According to SteamDB.info, the game has hit an all-time peak at 31,156 as of 12th June within 24 hours. The Steam version came out on 11th June.

For comparison, Mortal Kombat 11 reached an all-time player peak of 35,147 about 2 years ago. Street Fighter V’s all-time peak was 14,783 about 5 years ago, while Tekken 7 was 18,966.

While Arc System Works’ latest has pretty awesome numbers due to its marketing, lovely art style, and current need for a fresh new fighting game, keep in mind that this is for the PC version. It’ll be a while until we find out sales and player numbers for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

In addition, the game also received a day one 1.03 patch which contains the following:

  • All Online Matches: Fixed an error in which the game would rarely crash due to an application error when a match finished.
  • Player Match: Fixed an error in which, under certain circumstances, the game would crash due to an application error when displaying the member information via input by the right analog stick.
  • Battle Stage: Decreased the processing load for the “L’oro Di Illyria” stage in order to improve the issue in which it would significantly slow down the game when used in online matches.
  • Fixes to the following: network issues, Story Mode crashes.

We liked the new Guilty Gear, but felt that it needed more overall content to justify its triple-A price tag. Our full review is here.
