[Rumour] Grand Theft Auto 6 Will Be Out In 2025; Includes Fortnite-Style Evolving Map
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|June 30, 2021|0 Comment
The next Grand Theft Auto game is on the far horizon it seems.
According to a Tom Henderson YouTube video (via GameSpot), Grand Theft Auto 6 might be set in a modern-day version of Vice City, which is conflicting with past reports that GTA 6 will be set in the 1980s. Henderson claimed that developer Rockstart gives its developers a ton of freedom when it comes to creating content for GTA Online, its current moneymaker for all parties on the Grand Theft Auto train.
Another chief reason for its 2025 release window is because Rockstar places greater emphasis on employee wellbeing thanks to reports of the company’s crunch work conditions when making Red Dead Redemption 2.
Furthermore, GTA 6 might feature a map that changes over time ala Fortnite’s end-of-season events that alter the playing field. The game may also feature multiple playable characters like GTA 5. The sequel will be coming out for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though the company is waiting for more systems to be sold to maximize sales.
This is backed up by publisher Take-Two’s statement during a recent shareholder meeting which stated that GTA 6 isn’t going to come out in 2021. The fact that GTA 5 and GTA Online is making the company money means that Rockstar has the luxury to take its time with the sequel. Which is expected; GTA Online is still really popular up until now.
