Psychonauts 2 Will Have An Invincibility Toggle For New Players

Psychonauts 2 is coming out soon, and Double Fine has taken into consideration that people may want to play through the game’s story without worrying about their lack of skills.

So the developer has added an invincibility toggle to the game. This means that you can beat the game without dying once, even if you’re a beginner.

“If you beat Psychonauts 2 with the invincibility toggle on, you still beat P2.

“uh, excuse me I beat Sword Guy Serious Time on a no hit hard mode and if didn’t do that I don’t respect you. and like, can you even comment on things if you’re not diamond six rank in shooty mcBlam? I don’t think so”

cool bud. you’re soooo cool!

All people should be able to enjoy games. All ages, all possible needs. It’s an ongoing and important process for our industry and a challenge we need to meet. End of the day? We want you to have fun, to laugh, to experience a story that affects you. On whatever terms you want.”

That’s a pretty good reason if you want to tailor your game for all ages. Sure, some games require you to have a modicum of skill and patience, but it really depends on the developer’s vision. Your From Softwares aren’t the same as your Double Fines and your Respawn Entertainments. If you get more people on board getting something out of your quality game -challenging or otherwise- more power to them.

The game will be out on 25th August for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.
