Wow, it’s been 40 years since the first Ghostbusters film came out, eh? So it’s only natural we get to see a follow-up to the film that hopefully doesn’t retread the plot of the first film. So far, it looks promising.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is set for 11th November and will feature some cameos from the old guard like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, and Ernie Hudson. But really, the film is about a new family who is experiencing some spooky going-ons. Check out the trailer below:
Said family include Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace, all above doing their best in busting ghosts together with Paul Rudd. It’s kids and a teacher-slash-Ghostbusters-superfan teaming up in dealing with the afterlife in the small town they’re in, and the premise should just be that instead of some silly reimagining from 2016. Let’s hope this new Ghostbusters film can pull off that much needed balancing act of placating old fans and bringing in new viewers to this comedy-slash-horror hybrid.
