All Four Evangelion Rebuild Movies Are Coming To Amazon Prime Video This August

Amazon Prime Video has announced that the Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time will premiere on the streaming service on 13 August 2021 in more than 240 countries and territories, alongside the first three films in the Rebuild Of Evangelion retelling/reboot. This is the highly-anticipated conclusion to Hideaki Anno’s iconic anime franchise, which premiered in Japan earlier this year on 23 January 2021.
The Rebuild Of Evangelion anime film series originally started with 2007’s Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, followed by its sequel, 2009’s Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, and 2012’s Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.
Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time was initially teased at the end of the 2012 movie and has received many delays ever since, the most recent of which was earlier this year, which cited the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as the major reason.
In a press release, Evangelion franchise Hideaki Anno said:
“I’d like to thank every Eva fan in the world for your continued support.
We were looking for the best way to offer the movie to fans overseas as early as possible in a challenging situation with movie theatres during COVID-19, and are happy to have found Prime Video as a partner to stream it globally.
We highly recommend watching it on a big TV screen for the best viewing experience.â€
