By Alleef Ashaari|July 28, 2021|0 Comment
Since everyone is (still mostly) staying home because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I’m sure you won’t want to waste time sifting through HBO GO’s extensive catalogue of shows and movies just to decide on what to watch. The streaming site updates its site every day, week, and month with new content, so I’m here to save your precious time.
Here are my personal recommendations and highlights for HBO GO and Warner TV’s August 2021 lineup and how to fill up your free time with worthwhile content at home:
When heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Across five exciting seasons, a diverse group of individuals are united by the enigmatic time-traveller Rip Hunter to battle a threat to the entire planet and all of time itself. Where else can you find an entire pantheon of both heroes and villains, ranging from The Flash and Arrow to John Constantine and White Canary, and so many more?
DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow is an epic series set within an interconnected universe, with time travel, seamless visual effects, and a cast of infectiously entertaining characters. Stars Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Franz Drameh, Caity Lotz, Amy Louise Pemberton, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano, and Tala Ashe.
DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1 to 5 will be available to stream starting from 1 August 2021.
Learn more about the life of Barack Obama in this three-part documentary and follow the trail of his political career, from a young Illinois State Senator to the 44th President of the United States, through archival interviews and speeches.
With insights from a who’s who of political experts such as Jelani Cobb, David Remnick, Cornel West, Sherrilyn Ifill, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, see how race and politics intertwined to make history as Americans elected the first black president of the United States.
Obama In Pursuit Of A More Perfect Union will premiere over three consecutive days from Wednesday, 4 August 2021 on HBO GO.
High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore continues her efforts to keep her team of young heroes intact. In this new season, fresh characters emerge and new challenges put Stargirl and the Justice Society of America in increasingly difficult situations that will require all their combined talents to overcome.
It stars Brec Bassinger, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington and Cameron Gellman. DC Comics will not want to miss this. The entire first season is already available on HBO GO.
DC’s Stargirl Season 2 premieres the same day as the U.S on Wednesday, August 11 at 9pm GMT+8 on Warner TV (Astro Channel 712 / UnifiTV Channel 451).
A small Wisconsin town gets a taste of political ambition when Gary Zimmer, a Democrat political consultant from the big leagues, lends his expertise to a retired Marine colonel in his bid to become Mayor. Stars Steve Carell, Chris Cooper and Rose Byrne.
The movie will premiere on Saturday, 21 August 2021 at 9pm GMT+8 on HBO GO and HBO (Astro Channel 411).
Clark Kent aka Superman and Lois Lane have faced down megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters and alien invaders over the years. Now, they come face-to-face with their greatest challenge ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents.
In addition to the daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether their sons Jonathan and Jordan could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers. Stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsas and Alex Garfin.
Superman & Lois Season 1 will stream on HBO GO starting from 27 August 2021. You can check out my review of the series here.
Those are just several selected highlights from next month’s offerings of new TV series and movies on HBO GO next month. Now you can plan your HBO GO watchlist for August 2021.
