Marvel Studios & DC Films Are Skipping Comic-Con 2021
By Alleef AshaariVerified|July 8, 2021|0 Comment
Last year in 2020, San Diego Comic-Con opted for a digital version of their event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It was officially called Comic-Con At Home and this year, they’re going to continue with the same format for 2021.
The Comic-Con At Home 2021 online event will take place from 23 July to 25 July 2021.
However, Disney’s Marvel Studios nor Warner Bros.’ DC Films will NOT be attending this year’s Comic-Con@Home, just like last year’s. As such, we shouldn’t be expecting any major news from now during the event later this month (via Deadline).
However, Comic-Con@Home will still feature movies like G.I. Joe Snake Eyes and more, so we will be seeing other stuff from other companies. Warner Bros. will have their hands busy with DC FanDome later this year, while Marvel arguably doesn’t need an event to generate hype for the MCU machine.
This is the second year in a row that Comic-Con will be an all-digital event. Comic At Home 2020 was less exciting than past Comic-Cons (check out our highlights from Day One and Day Two from last year), but perhaps this year the organizers will find a way to make the event more interesting again. The biggest reason for that was the absence of major companies like Marvel and DC Comics.
The countdown is on! #ComicConAtHome returns this month, July 23-25 to a screen near you.
