11 Bit Studios, the makers of Frostpunk, is making a sequel to its hit city-building survival game.
Unsurprisingly titled Frostpunk 2, the announcement trailer below shows that the world is still in an endless winter, set 30 years after the end of the first game’s campaign. Coal-burning is giving way to an important new resource, with the age of oil taking over.
Here’s the official description of the sequel:
“In Frostpunk’s successor, players are once again tasked with playing as the leader of a resource-hungry metropolis where the expansion and search for new sources of power is an unavoidable reality. But the apocalyptic world has moved on. After the age of coal, conquering Frostland for the oil extraction industry is expected to be the new salvation of what’s left of humanity.”
No release date has been mentioned yet, but at least we know Frostpunk 2 will be out for PC via Steam, Epic Games, and GOG.com.
