WWE 2K22 Brings The Smackdown In March 2022

2K Games and Visual Concepts has announced that WWE 2K22 will launch sometime in March 2022, according to a brand new teaser trailer. However, no new details were revealed about the upcoming game.

Players can expect “new controls” and a “redesigned engine”, according to the official Twitter account for WWE 2K22. More details and information will arrive in January 2022, which is still four months away at this point.

What this means is that there won’t be a new WWE 2K game in two whole years (2020 and 2021), and this is essentially a delay. WWE 2K22 was originally announced during Wrestlemania 37 earlier this year. This marks the second year in a row that a game in the WWE 2K franchise (previously known as WWF/WWE SmackDown! when it was under THQ) will not receive an annual entry since it originally began with 2000’s WWF SmackDown!.

2019’s WWE 2K20 was universally derided by gamers and reviewers alike, as the game is broken and littered with glitches and bugs to the point of near-unplayability. This was possibly due to the last-minute split between publisher 2K and long-time WWE 2K developer Yuke’s.

WWE 2K22 will release in March 2022 for unspecified platforms.
