Publisher Prime Matters just released new gameplay of its upcoming anime video game reboot Gungrave G.O.R.E, which is based on an old PlayStation 2 video game and anime series back in the 2000s.
And it looks as 2000 as you can get with its third-person shooting action and its coffin-and-gun-wielding protagonist kicking all sorts of butt. The game stars an anti-hero called Grave who rises from the dead to exact revenge on the syndication, gangster groups, and former best friend who put him down.
As a bonus, former Evil Within artist and former director of Ghostwire: Tokyo (and E3 2019 darling) Ikumi Nakamura will be working on the game, though in an unspecified role at this point in time. Here’s what she said (via IGN):
“This Gungrave G.O.R.E collaboration has been a valuable experience for me. I played the original Gungrave, so this has brought back lots of precious memories. You can expect more updates and other news from now on!”
Check out the G.O.R.Ey gameplay below. The Gungrave reboot will be out in 2022.
