Chocobo GP Will Feature 20+ Racers
During Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show 2021 showcase of its upcoming racing game Chocobo GP (Mario Kart but Final Fantasy), game director Akihiko Maeda said that the game will feature 20 racers.
Maeda did not state specifically who will be in the game, but he did ask fans to chip in what Final Fantasy characters they’d like to see. Based on the trailer we’ve seen and the screenshots we have, the following characters in the roster are White Mage, Behemoth, Moogle, and Chocobo.
The racing game will also feature magic that you can level up (Fira to Firaga), and characters with specific abilities. A marker will show up on your screen when an opponent casts a spell, so that you’re given a heads up and can either get out of the way or counter with a spell like MBarrier.
Chocobo GP will be out for Nintendo Switch in 2022.
