HBO Max has revealed a new clip of Peacemaker, the upcoming The Suicide Squad spinoff series starring John Cena.

In the footage, the titular hero steps out of a car with a custom license plate that reads, “PSS-MKR.” He then meets the rest of the cast at a restaurant for dinner. Peacemaker is asked why exactly he’s wearing his costume to dinner, to which he replies that it’s not a costume, it’s “a uniform.”

They all then proceed to make fun of him.

Set to premiere in January 2022, Peacemaker is an eight-episode series that serves as a follow-up to writer-director James Gunn’s DC Extended Universe film The Suicide Squad, which premiered last month. The series co-stars Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Peacemaker will explore the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn’s 2021 film, The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Watch John Cena as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad on HBO GO.
