Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford Steps Down As Video Game Division’s President

Gearbox Software now has a new president: former Chief Technology Officer Steve Jones.

Following a leadership shuffle, Gearbox Entertainment co-founder Randy Pitchford is stepping down as president, but will still serve as CEO and President of the Gearbox parent company. He will now work as the president of the newly-formed Gearbox Studios, which is focused on film and TV products. Long story short, the video game part of Gearbox will be run by Steve Jones, while the parent company and TV/film studio will be run by Randy Pitchford.

Basically, Pitchford will have more time meeting people like Kevin Hart who is starring in his Borderlands film, directed by Eli Roth.

Gearbox’s video game division is hard at work on the upcoming Borderlands spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
