Here’s Why The New JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Spin-Off Is A Great Idea

The November issue of Ultra Jump magazine announced the first spin-off manga for the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series that may not be a one-off (like the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan manga).

The spin-off will focus on Book 4’s main character and setting: Josuke Higashikata and Mirioh Town. The manga will take place before Josuke’s stand is called Crazy Diamond. The spin-off will be written by Kouhei Kadono (Boogiepop Phantom) and drawn by Tasuku Karasuma (No Guns Life).

Why This Spin-Off Is A Great Idea

Personally, I really enjoyed the antics of Josuke and his Crazy Diamond stand, with him just doing stupid school shenanigans with his pals. With the story and artwork from Kadono and Karasuma, it’s sure as hell going to be a wacky fun ride, seeing as the setting of Morioh Town is out of the ordinary.

However, I also hope the manga spin-off touches on what happened after the ending of Book 4, showcasing everyone’s lives a few years while the Golden Wind and Stone Ocean storylines are going on.

On a related note, Hirohiko Araki’s JoJolion will launch a JOJOLANDS manga title at a later date, which is clearly the follow-up to the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. The recent story arc, JoJolion (Book 8) recently concluded on 17th September. The anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will premiere on Netflix this December.
