Xbox Is Bringing Back Native Twitch Streaming

Twitch streaming integration is officially returning directly into the Xbox dashboard. Twitch originally appeared on the Xbox One dashboard back in 2014, but it was removed three years later in 2017. Now, Twitch is coming back to the Xbox Guide interface.

According to update notes, Alpha and Skip-Ahead alpha Xbox testers can already test out the new Twitch integration right now. You can adjust the game volume or microphone volume, include party audio from friends, and see a list of viewers and how long you’ve been streaming with an overlay on top of your games.

Insiders can try out live streaming to Twitch by navigating to the “Capture and Share” tab and choosing “Live streaming”. They’ll then need to link a Twitch account using a mobile device or using console Settings. Once the account is linked hit the “Go live now” button to start streaming gameplay to Twitch.

The Xbox Twitch integration also includes the ability to switch resolution and bitrates from 360p at 500kbps up to 1080p at 6500kbps, as well as support for USB webcams. However, as of now, it remains to be seen when the new Twitch integration will arrive for everyone else.
