Sol Cresta Delayed To 2022
PlatinumGames developer Hideki Kamiya announced recently that the company’s 2D shmup tribute title Sol Cresta will not be out at the end of 2021.
The game now has a “when it’s out” release date, most likely in 2022. However, the team has shown off a number of new features for the game. During the official livestream, the team demoed the game’s second stage, the Caravan mode (Score Attack mode), and the vertical mode (tate) where you can play the game on a vertical screen setup. Oh, and also the game’s intro, which is scrolling text, a background of old Sol Cresta prequels that never existed even though the developers insisted that they do, and some CGI bits intercut with the 2D sprites of the ships to capture that late 90s attract mode splash.
Sol Cresta will be out for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC (Steam) eventually.
