Returnal launched exclusively for the PS5 in April 2021, but it seems like we might be getting new DLC content soon. Last week, developer Housemarque posted an image of some monster on their official Twitter account.

The post simply states; “Atropos…?” For those unfamiliar, that’s the name of the alien planet that the game is set on. What makes the tease even bigger in potential is Housemarque senior narrative designer Eevi Korhonen, who retweeted the studio’s teaser and said:

“We filmed something really amazing today. Hope we get to share more soon!”

The Game Awards 2021 is taking place on 9 December 2021. Perhaps we’ll get a first glimpse at the Returnal DLC then?

Returnal‘s latest 2.0 update came out in November 2021 and added the ability for players to suspend their progress when closing the game and shutting down their PlayStation 5 system. Housemarque is also now part of the PlayStation Studios family after Sony acquired the developer back in June 2021.
