[Rumour] The Next Bioshock Game Will Take Place In The Antarctic

While publisher 2K Games has confirmed a new Bioshock game is in the works, everything else from gameplay and its setting is still a mystery. Thanks to the rumour mill, the latter may be set in stone.

Colin Moriarty of Last Stand Media said on his podcast series that the game will take place in the 1960s in an Antarctic city called Borealis.

“[The game’s] codenamed ‘Parkside’… I’ve been told that the development team has incredible latitude to get it right. Internally the game is very secret and apparently, totally locked up. Apparently the inclination there is that they understand full well that this game will be compared to what Ken Levine does. And by the way, [2K] is also publishing Levine’s next game.”

This lines up with what Eurogamer and VGC have heard as well.

The next Bioshock title will be made by developer Cloud Chamber Games, with design director Jonathan Pelling, creative director Hoagy de la Plante, and art director Scott Sinclair at the helm. The trio has worked on the series since the first game back in 2006.
