Netflix just released a new trailer for its upcoming The Witcher prequel dubbed Blood Origin, which stars Michelle Yeoh as a butt-kicking elf in a dark fantasy universe.

The Witcher: Blood Origin tells the story of the first prototype Witcher (since they weren’t made yet in this story) and the events that lead to the series’ Conjunction of the Spheres. As such, it’ll feature a ton of elves played by Datuk Yeoh herself, Sophia Brown, and Laurence O’Fuarain.

“Every story has a beginning. Witness the untold history of the Continent with The Witcher: Blood Origin, a new prequel series set in an elven world 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – exploring the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “Conjunction of the Spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.”

The Witcher: Blood Origin will be out on Netflix in 2022.
