The first three episodes of Peacemaker Season 1 is now streaming on HBO GO and HBO Max. The series explores the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn’s 2021 film, The Suicide Squad. However, many fans must be wondering; why didn’t HBO just release all eight episodes of Season 1 all at once?
The answer is simple; they couldn’t.
In response to someone stating that HBO should have just released the whole season at once, Peacemaker showrunner James Gunn explained on Twitter that post-production for the final episode of Peacemaker is unfinished and still in post-production.
One new episode of Peacemaker will be released every week starting from 20 January 2022 until 17 February 2022, which is when the eighth and final episode will premiere on HBO GO or HBO Max.

It is this writer’s opinion that a weekly release schedule is ultimately better to fully appreciate each episode and build more hype, as more and more streaming services like Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ now also follow the same format. Not many services are still following the full season binge format popularized and still in use by Netflix.
