PLAYISM and Daraneko Games have announced that The Use Of Life will release for PC via Steam in Early Access sometime in spring 2022. A demo of the game is now available.
The Use Of Life is a choose-your-own-adventure-style JRPG with choices and multiple endings, which changes depending on “the use of life†you choose through your journey. In this game, the main character’s (who is a giant anthropomorphic rabbit) various “attachments†fluctuate in accordance with the choices the player makes, changing the character’s way of thinking.
The battles in The Use Of Life are characterized by a fusion of turn-based combat and QTE -style mechanics. With both sides acting three times per turn, the player must depend on their skills and strategies.
The game will also feature a deep customization system, as well as unique gamebook-style narration and sometimes even using TRPG-like dice rolls to decide outcomes as various events unfold.
