The Batman’s Robert Pattinson Displays Love For Final Fantasy VII To Disinterested Co-Star
With The Batman movie coming out next month, stars Robert Pattinson (Batman/Bruce Wayne) and Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman/Selina Kyle) are doing the usual media interviews and tours to promote the film. Little did we know that we’ll be seeing one of them gush over the biggest JRPG of all time.
During a Clique X interview (via Robert Pattinson Society), Robert Pattinson said that he fell in love with Aerith and Tifa in the 1997 classic PlayStation title Final Fantasy VII. He explains his love for the two and the big twist on the first disc of the game to a clearly disinterested Zoe Kravitz. He even brought up the Aerith/Aeris mistranslation to boot.
“I thought I was in love as well. I was in love with Aerith and Tifa.
There’s the two options of girls you can choose. [Final Fantasy VII is] the best. It’s a love triangle. You have Aerith […] who’s the really kind girl with the superpowers who like to heal everyone and make everything a better place. And then you have Tifa who’s a sexy little thing […] with the short skirt. And you’re like “I can’t decide”.
And then Aerith, right at her peak, she gets killed. This is how every guy decides what love is.”
He adds that you may be close to getting the ideal woman, but in reality, you don’t. And it’s also hard to choose between two of them in your life. It’s just his way of saying that men will get the woman they need in their lives, not the one they necessarily want. Almost like as if he’s saying that men will end up with the woman they deserve, but not the one they need right now.

Even celebrities can relate to video games, especially in love, just like normal people. The Batman will be out in cinemas on 3rd March in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Final Fantasy VII Remake is out right now for PS4, PS5, and PC.
