Brave Frontier Will Be Shutting Down After 9 Years Of Being In Service
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|March 31, 2022|0 Comment
Talk about the end of an era. After being online for 9 long years, mobile RPG Brave Frontier will shutting down.
According to the official gumi Facebook page, Brave Frontier will be shutting down on 27 April, 2022 at 0:00 PDT. All Gem purchases will be terminated right now. Players who wish to find out more about the closure and the refund process will need to head to this link.
This does begs the question: what’s going to happen to Japanese company gumi, the creators of Brave Frontier? Rest assured, the company is fine. As of now, the company is handling operations for two major Final Fantasy titles -Brave Exvius and War of The Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius- and The Alchemist Code. Even with Brave Frontier laid to rest, the company is still busy running these games.
Still, it is sad to see Brave Frontier sunsetting. Many folks including myself had fond memories playing the mobile RPG, especially since it was one of the few mobile JRPGs that had crossovers with the likes of Shin Megami Tensei and The King of Fighters.
It also had a bunch of insane TV commercials and ads with various art directions. Full disclosure: I used to work at gumi and was involved in getting these ads up and running to the public. At the very least, one of them was received favourable; I’ll let you be the judge to decide which one it was.
Fare thee well, sweet prince! Thank you for the memories and opportunities.
