LEGO Shows Off Life-Sized Version Of McLaren F1
At the 2022 Australian Grand Prix, LEGO unveiled a life-sized replica of the McLaren Formula 1 race car ahead of this weekend’s races (via Twitter). Designed in partnership with McLaren Racing, the life-sized LEGO McLaren F1 can even fit a real F1 driver in its cockpit and eight-time Grand Prix winner Daniel Ricciardo is the one behind the wheel for this one.
The LEGO McLaren F1 car was assembled by a team led by LEGO Masters Australia judge Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught, featuring a whopping 288,315 bricks and taking more than 1893 hours to fully build. It also includes a number of mechanical features, such as moving pistons for its engine, a locking differential, and steering activated from the cockpit.
It will be showcased at the Versor Tech Hub located near gate 10 at the Australian Grand Prix track. If you’re interested in getting one, you can settle for the new LEGO Technic McLaren F1, which is priced at RM239.90 at the local Toys “R” Us in Malaysia.
