The Next World of Warcraft Expansion Is Dragonflight

A new leak suggests that a new World of Warcraft expansion is in the works.

While Blizzard announced that it has plans to make a major WoW announcement during 19 April, website Wowhead has reported on the upcoming expansion’s leaked public source code. An update on the official WoW website had lines of code for the Dragonflight Base, Heroic and Epic Expansion prepurchases, and a URL listed as “dragonflight.blizzard.com”. Wowhead’s usual report on datamined WoW info is usually spot-on, so it’s safe to say the cat’s out of the bag.

Still, this may be good news for WoW MMORPG players looking for a new expansion after Shadowlands. Blizzard usually releases a new WoW expansion every two years, so this is on par for the course announcement-wise. On a related note, Blizzard will be purchased by Microsoft, meaning the future of WoW will be under Xbox and Microsoft ownership in some form.
