2022 isn’t completely barren when it comes to games, provided you don’t mind titles that are a small step away from the triple-A gaming space. The upcoming Modus Games-published action title Soulstice looks like it fits that bill.

Soulstice is an action game made by Italian studio Reply Game Studios where two sisters, Briar and Lute, team up to deal with bad guys wrecking havoc in the city of Ilden. As you can tell from the action in the trailer below, expect combos, high flying aerial attacks, cancels, and stylish flairs aplenty. Briar fights with her sword and melee weapons, while Lute fires spirit projectiles. Some enemies have damage-nullifying shields of magic, so you need Lute’s spells to remove them.

It looks pretty neat in action, for the most parts. While the trailer’s gameplay has a little bit of that “Euro jank”, we won’t know if it’s in the final game and we need to play it for ourselves. It looks promising and we definitely won’t say no to new action games in the veins of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Soulstice will be out this Fall 2022 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
