Diablo Immortal Shadow War Bug Is Affecting Game’s Servers
Diablo Immortal is not catching a break anytime soon.
A Diablo Immortal Shadow War bug that’s game-breaking has recently surfaced (via Reddit), affecting the game’s top player guilds. This bug actually makes them miss out on the the chance to take on Immortals in the Rite of Exile.
A Blizzard community lead named PezRadar has said the bug is impacting a good majority of the game’s servers across Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Coincidentally, that’s the week the Asia Pacific version of Diablo Immortal launched.
How does it work? Well, players claimed that when they won their group bracket in the Shadow War, they were not being placed in the top ten Dark Clans list on their respective servers. This ranking determines the ten groups who will take place in the Rite of Exile, which allows them to take on the server’s highest-ranking Immortals to replace them as the new ruling clan of the server.
The bug itself made both teams instead rematch against a clan they’ve beaten in a bracket earlier in the week, or go up against a no-show opponent. The teams are then told they had lost as though the other clan “won” their respective match. Due to this cock-up, the Rite of Exile for the week has been delayed on those servers and are currently fixing the problem.
“[T]o prevent this issue from replicating itself on other regional servers, Blizzard deployed a hotfix today for players on North American and South American servers.”
On a related note, a good number of Diablo Immortal players burned by the game are instead looking forward to Diablo 3’s upcoming Season.
