Genshin Impact 2.8 Update Will Be Out Mid-July; Features New Fischl & Diluc Costumes Too!

Genshin Impact’s upcoming 2.8 update will be slated for the middle of July according to developer Hoyoverse, and based on the graphic on the feature page, it’s going to be a anime beach episode type of deal.

The update introduces a new 4-star Anemo Catalyst user named Shikanoin Heizou. He’s a young prodigy detective from the Tenryou Commission. He lets his Anemo attacks and fists do the talking as a last resort as he prefers to solve problems the detective’s way.

The update also introduces a new story quest featuring Kazuha and his family’s history as blacksmiths. Speaking of Kazuha, his banner is going through a rerun when the update launches. We’re also getting the second beach episode quest called Summer Time Odyssey, and it involves Fischl and Mona in a bunch of beach adventures.

Fischl and Diluc will be getting brand-new outfits; Fischl’s will be available as a reward from the summertime quest while Diluc’s require you to pay real money/Primogems for it.

Check out the gameplay trailer below. The Genshin Impact 2.8 update will go live on 13th July.

As an icing to this delicious update cake, Hoyoverse also teased update 3.0, which will have players explore the jungle continent of Sumeru.
