During the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios announced a lot of new information, including the release date for the Fantastic Four movie, which will premiere on 8 November 2024. However, nothing else was revealed about the movie, which remains a mystery.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios head honcho confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Fantastic Four movie won’t be an origin story and won’t simply rehash the origin story of Marvel’s First Family. Instead, they’re approaching it much in the same way that they introduced Spider-Man into the MCU with 2016’s Captain America Civil War.

He said:

“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

We also know that Marvel Studios is currently still looking for a director to helm the Fantastic Four movie, with Jon Watts no longer directing the movie. Perhaps we’ll learn more about the director and/or cast of the movie at the upcoming D23 event, which will take place from 9 to 11 September 2022.

In other related news, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will be directing Avengers The Kang Dynasty, which will premiere on 2 May 2025.
